One year anniversary for this guy at DA, woohoo!
It's been pretty quiet from here, but maybe that's because I don't comment as much as I could (I would like to, though!). University semester begins this week
, so that's gonna be a big "
Hey you, remember me?" whenever I try getting back to DA or catch a break.
Other than...Zetman. Oh my, Masakazu Katsura, how you've made me storm through your work's pages these past days.
Zetman, Zetman, Zetman. It's basically a Japanese-Northamerican style comic, in that it roughly follows the classic hero formula the USA has exploited, along with much of its characteristic, badass art, yet it has it obvious Japanese influences. It's damn gruesome too though, no wonder it's not for everyone's appeal
. And while the first 50~ chapters have lots of limbs and blood being spilled all over your face (and some other mature content too), I guess it pays off in the end: there is a sense of danger; Mr. Katsura isn't afraid to kill and, thus, any character could lose their lives any second. Deaths do slow down past the first few books, and it also sticks to a more common routine of the hero formula past the initial massacres, but lemme tell you - i haven't finished this stuff yet, and
man it's being one hell of a ride.
Mission at hand: finish the latest chapter (hopefully last one too, if this is a finished manga I'm reading) before Monday. Until then...Peace, and thanks for stopping by!
